The Mangalore CCB police have arrested a man who was selling the banned drug MDMA from Bengaluru to Mangaluru city and Kerala and seized 46 grams of MDMA.
Mangalore CCB Police, after receiving definite information about the illegal drug MDMA being bought and sold from Bangalore to Mangalore city, arrested Abdul Samad Mbatan @Samad @Chammu, who was illegally selling MDMA near Nehru Maidan, Mangalore city and 46 grams of banned drug MDMA, mobile phone and digital weighing scale worth Rs.2,30,000/- were seized from him. The total value of the seized property may be Rs.2,40,500/-. A case has been registered in this regard at Sen Crime Police Station.
The accused used to buy MDMA from Bangalore and sell it to public in Karnataka and Kerala state with the intention of making illegal profit. Many more people are involved in this drug sale/trafficking racket and the search for the accused is on. Earlier, a POCSO case and a case of drug peddling were registered against the accused at Ullal police station.
Police Inspector Shyam Sundar HM, PSI Sharanappa Bhandari and CCB personnel were involved in the detection of the sale/trafficking of this narcotic MDMA under the leadership of ACP Geeta Kulkarni of CCB unit.
