Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate the Karnataka’s Hubballi Railway Platform on March 12.

The Prime Minister will visit Hubballi-Dharwad on March 12 and inaugurate the IIT Dharwad building and officially inaugurate the world’s longest railway platform in Hubballi, Said Aneesh Hegde, Chief Public Relations Officer, South Western Railway.

Extension of platform by 1,505 metres with width of 10 metres: Earlier, platform 1 at Sri Siddharooda Swamy Hubballi railway station was 550 metres long. The platform has now been expanded to 1,505 metres with a width of 10 metres. After the inauguration of this new train platform in Hubballi, it will overtake the 1,366-metre-long Gorakhpur railway station. He will symbolically inaugurate the world’s longest railway platform developed at Shri Siddharuda Swamy Hubballi railway station from the IIT campus through video conferencing.
