Udupi: “Even after leaving the party I was in touch with Congress leaders. Everyone should understand that there is a personal life for every person besides a political career. We are all coming together for the development of people. Now my responsibility is to build the party. Everyone should work together in the next election. Everyone should try to win elections,” said K Jayaprakash Hegde, senior Congress leader.
After visiting the Udupi District Congress office today, he spoke to reporters and said “a program should be held by bringing together the office bearers of the two districts. Party leaders should be asked when the ticket will be announced. I have not discussed anything with Siddaramaiah about getting me a ticket. Deemed forest issue of the district has to be solved.”
“I am satisfied with my work as the chairman of the Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission. The report has now been submitted to the government” he added.
Speaking about the BJP announcement of the candidate for Udupi– Chikkamagaluru, Hegde said “BJP will do its work, we will do ours. We have started our party work. Discussing caste can work amicably as much as it does. Most of the people who joined BJP with me will return. I don’t think it is possible to bring everyone together. They can still help me while being in BJP. Some may care about their political future. It is not right to put pressure on anyone and tell them to follow,” he said.
