Goregaon Karnataka Sangha- Late Advocate Katkare Sanjiv Shetty memorial program

Mumbai: Former vice President of Goregaon Karnataka Sangha; Advocate Late Sanjiv Shetty’s family had started a fund in his memory and the fourth annual program relating to this was held on December 4th at Goregaon West.

The program was presided by the president of the Sangha Nityanand D Kotian.The Late Katkare Sanjiv Shetty memorial award was presented to well known senior Kannada teacher Amaresh Patil.

Speaking on the occasion he said that the fund set up by Yashoda Shetty and family of late Katkare Sanjiv Shetty has paved way for organizing program by the Sangha in a meaningful way.His memory will be remembered in a fond and useful manner. Many such funds are being set up that has been of immense help to the Karnataka Association.
He added it was an honour to felicitate Amaresh Patil who has been awarded a doctorate at an international level and who is also a well known social worker.

Amaresh Patil speaking after the honours said that children from slum areas like Dharavi were identified and arrangements were made for their education. Children from Kannada background were specifically chosen to be admitted to Kannada schools .He said he was pleased to note that many such students, making use of the opportunity are now in good position in the society.

Vishweshwar Meate, Shivayogi Sannamanni and Harish Pejawar also spoke on the occassion.

Committee members organised the program in an efficient manner and members including some seniors participated in the program.
