January 6 th: A padayatra organised from Kudroli to Bangalore for the formation of Billava, Ediga Abivruddi Nigama
Karkala: A padayatra has been organised on the 6 th of January from Kudroli Gokarnatheswara temple to Bangalore; for bringing to the notice of the government the requests and needs of Billava, Ediga and 26 other sub castes and the formation of a Abivruddi Nigama to look into these matters.An announced to this effect was made by Dr Sri Pranavananda Swamiji of Sharana Basaweshwara Mutt.
The padayatra will be inaugurated by B Janardan Poojary at the Gokarnatheswara temple Kudroli.The yatra will go on for a period of 35 days until it reaches its destination.
A amount of 500 crores must be kept in a corpus fund in the name of Brahmashree Narayana Guru Nigama.He also said that opportunities must be given to persons in the community to set up businesses and include the community to 2A catogery.
