A programme to distribute funds for building houses

Mangalore: The Yakshadruma Patla foundation trust has been founded especially to help Yakshagana artists.It is not only working on the improvement of Yakshagana art form and helping artists who work all night to continue the art.The Patla foundation is doing exemplary work in this regard said Sadashiv Shetty honorary president of Yakshadruva foundation and president of Hayramba industries, Mumbai.

He was speaking at a program in Mangalore were under the YaksaAshraya scheme rupees two lakhs each was distributed to four artist beneficiaries to build houses.

He also spoke about providing other facilities to artists of yakshagana mela and working for their well being.Improvement of their living conditions and enhancement of their salaries will go along way in saving the great art form of Yakshagana.

The chief secretary of the Patla foundation and the president of the global unit of Bantara sangha Ikala Harish Shetty said that leaving aside religious interests and working on humanitarian grounds is real social service.The Patla foundation by working for artists and art form is doing yeomens service to the society.

The founder president of the foundation trust Patla Sathish Shetty said that since it’s inception six years ago more than 8.5 crores has been distributed under various schemes.

Under the housing scheme Lakshman Bandari from Kamalashile Mela, Thimappa Devadiga from Maranakatte mela, Narasimha Nayak from Mandarthi mela and Chandrahasa Poojary from Polali mela were given aid to build houses.
