MLA Vedavyasa Kamaths’s efforts- water bill to continue at the same rate

Mangalore: The water charges in Mangalore was set to increase,but the untiring efforts by MLA Vedavyasa Kamath has put this on hold and the charges as of now will continue at the same rate.

This has Mangloreans all smiles.When the BJP came to power discussion were made to increase the water charges.But the Mangalore corporation only increased the rate of the commercial water charges. The rate for home consumption charges was recently increased from rupees 100 for 20,000 litres to rupees 174 which drew a lot of flake from the public.

But MLA Vedavyasa Kamath pursued the matter in the state level and sent in a report about the difficulty faced by the consumers and the effect it will have on the government.

Now the charge has been brought back to rupees 100 which was the prevailing rate before.Thus Vedavyasa Kamath’s efforts have been successful.
