Heavy rains in DK district: Orange alert declared

Mangalore: Heavy rains lashed DK district ; with the national highway and main roads in Mangalore city filled with rain water bringing life here to a standstill.The DC Rajendra K.V has declared a holiday to schools in places inundated with water

Padil railway under pass bridge, Pumpwell ,Tokuottu , Kottara Chowki and other junction areas are filled with water making the movement of vehicles difficult.

Pipeline work was also going on in Pumpwell area making things worse for vehicular movement.
