Mangalore: Landslide near Maravoor bridge:

Mangalore: Heavy rains that lashed DK district from yesterday has caused a landslide and damaged road near Maravoor bridge.Vehicular movement has also become difficult here

The DC has said that PWD engineers have been sent to inspect cracks and the damaged roads.

A live electricity wire falls on an autorickshaw and kills eight persons

In an incident reported from Sri Satya Sai district in Andhra Pradesh,eight labourers were killed when a live electric wire fell on a moving autorickshaw.

The labourers were returning home after work when the wire cut off and fell on the auto.The autorickshaw caught fire and seven persons were killed.Three were seriously injuried and shifted to hospital when one person breathed his last on the way.

Heavy rains in DK district: Orange alert declared

Mangalore: Heavy rains lashed DK district ; with the national highway and main roads in Mangalore city filled with rain water bringing life here to a standstill.The DC Rajendra K.V has declared a holiday to schools in places inundated with water

Padil railway under pass bridge, Pumpwell ,Tokuottu , Kottara Chowki and other junction areas are filled with water making the movement of vehicles difficult.

Pipeline work was also going on in Pumpwell area making things worse for vehicular movement.
