Mangalore police have launched an ‘Operation Safeguard’ to prevent illegal gatherings, unwanted traffic and illegal activities in public places.
On Thursday night, 70 people were taken into custody by the police in Tannirubavi, Surathkal, Someshwara and Panambur beaches under Mangalore Police Commissionerate. The police, which have been operating systematically in the wake of complaints from the public, have heated up those who engage in illegal chats.
