Ujjire: ” We got our freedom through the doctrine of Ahimsa advocated by the father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi.Our country today is one of the most respected nations of the world.We should be proud to be citizens of this great nation” said Sri D Veerendra Heggade after hoisting the national flag at the Sri Rathnaverma Heggade stadium in Ujjire at a function organised under the auspices of the SDM Society.

He added that it is the duty of today’s youth to build a strong nation by the time we celebrate the nation’s centenary celebrations of independence.

The members and office bearers of SDM Society, principals of various colleges and schools under the SDM Society dignitaries and students participated in the program. A cultural extravaganza followed.
