Heavy rains in Uttarakhand Red Alert Declaration in 13 Districts
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), which forecast heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand for three days from today till October 19, has announced a red alert in all 13 districts till 19th. Thus the Badrinath Yatra will be temporarily halted at present. The pilgrims were stopped at Pandukeshwara. Since the Red Alert has been announced, we have advised devotees not to travel. Many pilgrims coming to Badrinath have been blocked. Chamoli District Collector Himanshu Khurana said the safety of the victims was also taken into consideration.
