Nearly 1,500 ducks have died from H-5 N-8 virus infection at a duck farm in Neandoor, Kottayam. Against this backdrop, the governing body has decided to kill all ducks, chickens and other domestic animals. Alerts have been announced in all districts. More than 40,000 ducks will have to be killed to get the virus out of the state, State Animal Husbandry Minister Raju said.
