Ranil Vikrama Singhe is the new president of Sri Lanka

Colombo: Ranil Vikrama Singhe has been selected as the new president of Sri Lanka at an election in the Sri Lankan Assembly.The previous president Gotabaya Rajapaksa had to resign amidst huge financial crises.

Speaking after being elected as president he said that he has been elected in a situation of great difficulties in the country and he had huge challenges before him that had to be faced.
