The BBA students of St. Philomena College have started their journey in the field of business by starting their own event management company.

“Setting up Sri Events was the dream of five like-minded people. Every ceremony creates some memories. Many event planners have many dreams. Sri. Events helps in embodying their dreams. Sri Events cooperates to understand the background of each event and organize the event in an appropriate and innovative manner. Innovation, integrity and customer satisfaction are the motto of our organization. We are eternally grateful to the professors of the BBA department of the college for their guidance and cooperation in making our concept a reality and for the encouragement of all our parents.”- Rashi Rai, Chief Executive Officer, Sri Events.

“These enterprising students of ours have ventured into the industry while learning using their skills. Many programmes have already been successfully organized. We are extremely proud of the achievements of these young entrepreneurs. All of them have done well academically. Through the practical knowledge they have acquired in the context of learning, they have realized their dreams and are role models for other students. May their organization rise even higher.”- Dr Radhakrishna Gowda V, Head of Business Administration Department.

“These students are an example that with quality education and good incentives, students can set up business in their own and do well. A unit called Institutions Innovation Council has been started in order to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the college. Through this unit guidance is given to set up startups. Apart from this, the professors of business administration department of the college are encouraging and guiding the students. Sri Events is an example of how the dreams of the students are being encouraged along with imparting education in our college. There are plans to set up incubation centers in the college in the coming days to encourage innovation. Let this organization established by our students grow even higher, let this organization provide better services to the customers” – Rev Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal, St. Philomena College, Puttur.

May this small effort of college girls grow into a successful venture in the future. Let’s hope that they will be able to serve in Puttur and surrounding villages and contribute to the economic development of the country.
