Mangalore: Rowdy sheeter Bharath Shetty attacked near Kulai

On Wednesday night, there was an attempt to kill a rowdy sheeter in front of Kulai Bar near Suratkal. Bharath Shetty, who was injured in the attack, has filed a complaint with the Suratkal police station, stating that he was attacked by the notorious Manoj Kodikere gang.

Bharath Shetty (32), a resident of Kodikere, is a known rowdy sheeter with murder cases registered against him in the Suratkal and Pandeshwar police stations. Formerly a member of the Manoj Kodikere gang, Bharath had a fallout with the gang leader Manoj Kodikere.

Members of the Manoj Kodikere gang, including Chethu, Gujje Shailu, Raju Farangipet, and Kishan Kodikere, arrived in a car on Wednesday night and attacked Bharath Shetty with swords while he was waiting outside Kulai Bar. During the attack, one of Bharath’s fingers was severed. Realizing the danger, Bharath managed to escape from the scene. The Suratkal police are currently investigating the incident.

ಮಂಗಳೂರು: ಅನಾರೋಗ್ಯ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗೆ ಬಂದ ಮಹಿಳೆಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುವ ನಾಟಕವಾಡಿ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರವೆಸಗಿದ ಘಟನೆ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.

ಕೇರಳ ಮೂಲದ ಮಹಿಳೆ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗಾಗಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಚಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಲು ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಯುವಕನೊಬ್ಬ ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾಗಿ ಮಹಿಳೆ ದೂರು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಅದನ್ನ ತನ್ನ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಬಳಿಕ ಆರೋಪಿ ಆ ವಿಡಿಯೋವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿ ಬ್ಲ್ಯಾಕ್ಮೇಲ್ ಮಾಡಿ ನಿರಂತರ ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ನಡೆಸಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ಮೂಲದ ನೊಂದ ಮಹಿಳೆ ಪರಿಚಿತ ಸುಜಿತ್ ಈ ಕೃತ್ಯ ಎಸಗಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮಾರ್ಚ್ ತಿಂಗಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಸುಜಿತ್, ವಿಡಿಯೋ ಬಹಿರಂಗ ಪಡಿಸುವ ಬೆದರಿಕೆ ಹಾಕಿ ನಿರಂತರ ಕಿರುಕುಳ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾಗಿ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ದೂರು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ನೊಂದ ಮಹಿಳೆ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಗೆ ಒಳರೋಗಿಯಾಗಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ತನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಜೀತ್ ಅತ್ಯಾಚಾರ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ದೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಘಟನೆಯ ಬಳಿಕ ನೊಂದ ಸಂತ್ರಸ್ತ ಮಹಿಳೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರಿಗೆ ದೂರು ನೀಡಿ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಕೋರಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಆರೋಪಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಸರಗೋಡಿನ ಹೊಸದುರ್ಗದಿಂದ ಬಂಧಿಸಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಜರುಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Schools in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi ready to welcome students; classes to commence on May 31

ಸುಮಾರ್ 2 ತಿಂಗೊಲ್ದ ರಜೆರ್ದ್ ಬೊಕ್ಕ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಬೊಕ್ಕ ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆದ ಶಾಲೆ ಮೇ 31ಕ್ಕ್ ಪೊಸ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ವರ್ಷಡ್ ಶುರು ಆಪುಂಡು.

Udupi/Mangalore: After a nearly two-month long vacation, state syllabus schools in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts will reopen for the new academic year on May 31. Some of the CBSE and ICSE schools in the two districts have already commenced classes, while others will start from June 17.

The admission process is progressing rapidly in all schools. Since Wednesday, activities including cleaning the school campus, arranging furniture, inspecting classrooms, gathering information on students, preparing to distribute uniforms and textbooks, organizing mid-day meal milk preparation, and arranging required groceries have been underway.

Classrooms had been closed for summer holidays since April 10, with only a few teachers and the head teacher attending to new admissions and other administrative tasks.

With the start of the 2024-25 academic year activities on Wednesday, many schools have hired additional staff and ensured the cleaning of campuses and classrooms.

Dakshina Kannada (DK) DDPI Ganapati K and Udupi DDPA Venkatesha Subyaya Patagara stated, “Precautionary measures have been taken to prevent any inconvenience to students during the rainy season. Messages have been sent to parents of students already enrolled in our schools, urging them to send their children to school on May 31. The commencement of schools will be celebrated uniquely in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.”
