Mangalore: A devastating fire engulfed a house on April 6 near Juma Masjid in Bunder, Mangalore. The blaze, which broke out around 11:15 am, consumed the entire old tiled house, where six families resided in a single-story building. Fortunately, all the occupants managed to evacuate the premises safely, and there were no casualties reported.

Promptly responding to the emergency, personnel from the Pandeshwar fire service arrived at the scene with two fire service vehicles. Their swift action helped bring the fire under control and prevented it from spreading to nearby buildings.

Initial investigations suggest that an electrical short circuit triggered the fire. The residents, observing Ramzan fasting, were still asleep until around 11 am when passersby noticed smoke billowing from the house’s roof. Alerted by the onlookers, the occupants quickly evacuated the premises.

Unfortunately, the fire ravaged all the belongings inside the house, leaving nothing but ashes. Sajina, one of the family members affected by the tragedy, expressed their dire situation, stating that they lacked even basic amenities like a pot for drinking water. They appealed to the district administration for assistance in this challenging time.

He expressed apprehensions that BJP functionaries might try to stop from using the prime minister’s images. “I guess the BJP candidate is trying to get a stay on using Modi’s photo and I have filed the caveat to prevent such circumstances,” he said in Sagar.

“Modi is our leader,” he said. BJP nominee and former CM BS Yediyurappa’s son BY Raghavendra has accused Eshwarappa of creating confusion among voters and misusing Hindutva for his personal gains. Eshwarappa, whose son was not considered for the party ticket for the neighbouring Haveri constituency, rebelled against the state BJP alleging Yediyurappa promoted the interests of only his family members and other close associates.
