Sikkim To Reward Women For Having More Than One Child
Sikkim: Women government employees in Sikkim who give birth to two or more children will receive extra salary hikes and paid-for childcare attendants at home, the state has announced as it grapples with the country’s lowest fertility rate and the risk of its population shrinking.
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has proposed a special salary hike for women who give birth to a second child and two raises for those who give birth to a third child.
