Ratha muharat at Kukke Subramanya temple:

The chief priest of the temple performed the rites of the start of the assembling of the Brahmaratha. The people of the Malekudi tribes take part in the rituals and bring the necessary wodden sticks from the forest area to start the work on the ratha. They form a team of 15 to 20 persons and stay in the forests for 4 to 5 days and bring the necessary special wood for the making of the special Ratha.
