Mangalore dec: 20 Mangalore police have recovered 800 metric tonnes of sand stored in private land without a permit. The acquired sand is dredged. Handed over to the District Mines and Geology Department.
A team led by ACP Ranjit Kumar of Mangalore South sub-division chased Tipper on suspicion of illegal sand mining. The vehicle reached the sand collection point in a private area in Talakki, Varkadi village, Kasaragod, Kerala. At this time, the attackers were paid Rs 5.60 lakh. 800 metric tonnes of sand have been discovered. The place belonged to a man named Talakki Rafiq, who was found to have no license on sand.
