Udupi : donor Krishnan, owner of South India’s renowned Bhima Jewelers, is no more

Udupi: owner of one of South India’s most renowned insurance Jewelers. Krishnan (76) died at a private hospital in Bangalore on Monday night after a short illness. The deceased leaves a wife, three daughters, and a son.
Bheema Jewelers has set up shop in many parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. He also owns a jewelry store in Udupi.

Heavy rains in Uttarakhand Red Alert Declaration in 13 Districts

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), which forecast heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand for three days from today till October 19, has announced a red alert in all 13 districts till 19th. Thus the Badrinath Yatra will be temporarily halted at present. The pilgrims were stopped at Pandukeshwara. Since the Red Alert has been announced, we have advised devotees not to travel. Many pilgrims coming to Badrinath have been blocked. Chamoli District Collector Himanshu Khurana said the safety of the victims was also taken into consideration.

Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh arrested

New Delhi: Hisar police have arrested former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh on charges of caste abuse.

In his conversation with Rohit Sharma last year, UV made a derogatory statement about the Scheduled Caste. A case has been registered against Yuvraj at Hansi city police station.
