Vitla: Karnataka bank robbery case; Three accused arrested

Vitla: Adyanadka police arrested three of the four accused who stole crores worth of cash and gold jewelery by sneaking into a window of the Karnataka Bank on March 11.

Khalandar, Rafeeq from Kasargod and Dayananda from Bayaru are said to be the main suspects of the theft. The police arrested these accused on February 28 and made their arrests official on March 10.

The thieves, who arrived in a Brezza car, broke the window pane of the bank and open the locker door with a gas cutter and cash and jewelery were stolen from the locker. During interrogation, the thieves revealed that they had hidden a portion of it in a playground in an isolated area near Sanjankila at the foot of Posadi Gumpe hill in Bayar.

Investigation has revealed that the person who worked as a welder for some years helped to break the locker and they are accused in various cases in Kasargod.

Bantwala: Car collides with two-wheeler: Six injured..!

Bantwala: Six people were injured when a car lost control and collided with a two-wheeler at Kodaje near Mani on March 11.

A car coming at a high speed from Mangalore side, while trying to overtake another vehicle, the driver could not control the car and collided with two-wheeler coming in the opposite direction.

A total of six people were injured in the incident. The injured were admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore.

The car and a two-wheeler were completely damaged in the accident. Vitla police have visited the spot.

Prime Minister Modi inaugurates world’s longest Railway Platform in Hubballi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially inaugurate the Karnataka’s Hubballi Railway Platform on March 12.

The Prime Minister will visit Hubballi-Dharwad on March 12 and inaugurate the IIT Dharwad building and officially inaugurate the world’s longest railway platform in Hubballi, Said Aneesh Hegde, Chief Public Relations Officer, South Western Railway.

Extension of platform by 1,505 metres with width of 10 metres: Earlier, platform 1 at Sri Siddharooda Swamy Hubballi railway station was 550 metres long. The platform has now been expanded to 1,505 metres with a width of 10 metres. After the inauguration of this new train platform in Hubballi, it will overtake the 1,366-metre-long Gorakhpur railway station. He will symbolically inaugurate the world’s longest railway platform developed at Shri Siddharuda Swamy Hubballi railway station from the IIT campus through video conferencing.

Actor Darshan visits the Swami Koragajja temple Kuttaru

Mangalore: Actor Darshan visited the Swami Koragajja temple Kuttaru on March 10 and sought the blessings of Koragajja. He was honoured by the management of the temple.

Later, speaking to the media, he said, “I have been to Mangalore many times. But could not come to Kuttaru. Everyone was talking about this place, so I visited and prayed,”.

Will inform about ban on Gobi Manchuri on Monday: Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao

Gobi Manchuri dish was asked to be tested. Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the test has been conducted accordingly and the report will be reviewed and the decision to be taken will be announced on Monday.

New Delhi: Child falls into borewell in Delhi; Rescue operation underway

New Delhi: A child fell into a borewell in the Keshopur area of Delhi on March 10, an official said. According to the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), the child fell into a borewell, about 40-50 feet deep, inside the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) plant in the Keshopur Mandi area.

Around 1 am, information was received that a person fell into a borewell at the DJB plant in west Delhi’s Keshopur Mandi area.

“Five fire tenders were rushed to the spot. We later received a message from our officials that a child had fallen into a 40-foot-deep borewell,” DFS chief Atul Garg said.

The NDRF rescue team on site is being led by Inspector-in-Charge Veer Pratap Singh. Speaking to ANI, Singh said, “We will soon mount a rescue operation by digging a borewell parallel to the one where the child fell. However, it could be a long-drawn operation.” Further details are awaited.

Bantwal: Collision between Container lorry and Private bus; The lorry driver was seriously injured

Bantwal: An accident between a container lorry and a private bus in front of the Vaidyanath temple on Bantwala College Road on Mar.9. The lorry driver was seriously injured in the collision.

The injured lorry driver has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore. There were several passengers, including students in the private bus who escaped with minor injuries.

The incident took place when a container lorry going from B.C. Road towards Moodbidri collided head-on with a private bus coming from Moodbidri towards Bantwal. The front portions of both vehicles were significantly damaged in the accident. Bantwal traffic police have visited the scene of the incident.
