New Delhi: Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP has launched a new campaign: a song on the theme ‘Main Modi ka Parivar Hun’.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shared this song on his X account and has captioned it: “Mera Bharat, Mera Parivaar.” This comes the very day the Election Commission will announce the dates for the upcoming general elections.

The three minutes 13 seconds long video features Prime Minister Modi interacting with several people who appear to be beneficiaries of various welfare schemes announced by the Central government. The song also shows people from all sections of society connecting with the Prime Minister through these schemes and how the nation has progressed under his leadership over the past decade.

The lyrics of the song go: “He lives in the house of my heart, always cares about me…He understands my pain and suffering, remains involved in my happiness…He is not standing alone here, I am his world…I am Modi’s family.”

The campaign song depicts the faith people have in Prime Minister Modi and BJP’s poll mantra ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’.

The slogan ‘Mera Bharat, Mera Parivaar’ was coined by the Prime Minister in response to a personal remark made by an opposition leader.

New Delhi: Scores of migrants from Pakistan and Afghanistan on March 15 breached barricades during a protest against the INDIA bloc and Congress leaders in the national Capital, over their statements on the notification of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) rules. The demonstrators, brandishing placards reflecting their dissatisfaction with the leaders of the INDIA bloc, chanted slogans as they marched towards the Congress headquarters.

The protest, held near the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters on Ashoka Road, witnessed a tense stand-off between the demonstrators and the police.

There was a heavy police and Rapid Action Force presence in the vicinity to ensure order. Police had erected numerous tiers of barricades to stop the refugees’ march towards the Congress headquarters.

“We escaped from Pakistan to protect our daughters and mothers. We have suffered atrocities, and these leaders oppose us. Now, several political figures such as Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee, and Rahul Gandhi are speaking out against the government granting us citizenship,” said Brij Lal.

Earlier, senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, Jairam Ramesh, raised concerns regarding the timing of the introduction of the CAA rules.

The Congress asserted that this legislation stirred controversy due to its departure from the constitutional principle that citizenship should not be determined by religion. On Thursday, several Hindu migrants from Afghanistan and Pakistan protested in front of Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal’s residence over his statements on the recently-notified CAA. New Delhi: SC issues notice to SBI for non-disclosure of Electoral bond number

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to the State Bank of India (SBI) for non-disclosure of alphanumeric code of Electoral Bonds, which are essential for identifying the bonds. As a result, the court has issued a notice to the bank and sought its response by Monday.

A five-judge Constitution bench, comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices Sanjiv Khanna, BR Gavai, JB Pardiwala, and Manoj Misra, expressed dissatisfaction with SBI’s compliance with its March 11 order. In that order, the bank was instructed to disclose all details related to Electoral Bonds.

“They have not disclosed the bond number because that has to be disclosed by the State Bank of India (SBI). If you see our judgement, all details have to be furnished by the SBI,” said a Constitution Bench headed by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud.

The apex court instructed its Registrar Judicial to ensure the scanning and digitization of documents, after which the original documents would be returned to the ECI. The ECI will then upload them on its website by March 17.

During the hearing, the apex court expressed its concern over SBI’s non-disclosure of the bond numbers, emphasizing the bank’s obligation to do so. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta urged the court to issue notice to the bank, indicating that they might have relevant information to provide.

In a previous verdict in February, the Supreme Court had invalidated the Electoral Bonds Scheme, which allowed for anonymous funding to political parties, and directed SBI to cease issuing Electoral Bonds immediately. The court had also struck down amendments made to the Income Tax Act and the Representation of People Act, which had enabled anonymous donations.

The court’s decision to seek clarification from SBI underscores the ongoing legal battle surrounding electoral funding and transparency in India’s political landscape.

PIA restricts Ramadan fasting for pilots and cabin crew

Officials said the decision was taken after considering a medical recommendation that fasting can lead to dehydration, lethargy and sleepiness. The Corporate Safety Management and Air Crew Medical Centre have both recommended that pilots and cabin crew members of Pakistan International Airlines should not fast during flights.

The recommendation was made to the PIA by the Corporate Safety Management and Air Personnel Medical Centre.

The PIA management also clarified that if the pilot or crew member was fasting, they will not be allowed to board the flight.

The investigation team probing the crash of a PIA aircraft near Karachi airport in May 2020 had recently said that the accident was caused by human error. 99 passengers were killed in the accident.
