ಕೊರೋನಾದ ನಡುಟು ಲಾ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ದಸರ ಉತ್ಸವ ಬಾರಿ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾದ್ ಮುಗಿದುಂಡು. ಕುದ್ರೋಳಿ ಗೋಕರ್ಣನಾಥ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಡ್ 9 ದಿನ ನಡಪುನ ದಸರಾ ಆಚರಣೆ ‘ಮಂಗಳೂರು ದಸರ’ ಪಂದೇ ಪುಗಾರ್ತೆ ಪೋತುಂಡು. ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಡ್ ಟೇಬಲ್‌ಆಕ್ಸ್ ಬೊಕ್ಕ ಕುಣಿತ ಭಜನೆ, ನೃತ್ಯ, ಚೆಂಡೆ ಇಂಚ ಬಾರಿ ಗರ್ದ್ ಡ್ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ನಡತೊಂದು ಇತ್ತುಂಡಲ,ಈ ವರ್ಷ ಪರಾಕಾಷ್ಟೆ ಡ್ ಒವ್ವೆ ರೀತಿದ ಇತ್ತುಜಿ ದಾಯೆನ್ದ್ ಕೇಂಡ ಅಂಚಿನ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ ಆತುಂಡು. ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ 26 ಸೋಮವಾರ ಬೈಯ್ಯಗ್ 6.30 ಕ್ ವಿಸರ್ಜನಾ ಪೂಜೆ ನಡತುಂಡು . ಐರ್ದ್ ಬೊಕ್ಕ ಗಣಪತಿ ವಿಸರ್ಜನೆ, ದುರ್ಗಾ ದೇವಿನ 9 ರೂಪ ಬೊಕ್ಕ ಶಾರದಾ ದೇವಿನ ವಿಗ್ರಹಲೆನ್ ರಾತ್ರಿ 8.30 ರ್ದ್ ಒಂಜೊಂಜೆ ಸಭಾಂಗಣರ್ದ್ ಪಿದಾಯಿ ಕಂತೆರ್. ವಿಗ್ರಹಲೆನ್ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಸುತ್ತ ಬಲಿ ಕೊನೊಯಿ ಬೊಕ್ಕ ಅವೆನ್ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಕೆರೆಟ್ ವಿಸರ್ಜನೆ ಮಲ್ತೆರ್. ನಡು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಶಾರದಾ ವಿಸರ್ಜನೆ ನಡತುಂಡು. ದೇವಿನ ವಿಗ್ರಹನ್ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಸುತ್ತು ಕೊನೊದು ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ದ್ವಾರ ಮುಟ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಡ್ ಕೊನೊಯೆರ್ ಐರ್ಧ್ ಬೊಕ್ಕ ‘ಬಾಲಿ ಮೂರ್ತಿ’ ಪಂದ್ ಪುಗಾರ್ತೆ ಪಡೆಯಿನ ಭಗವಾನ್ ಗೋಕರ್ಣನಾಥ ಬೊಕ್ಕ ಅನ್ನಪೂರ್ಣೇಶ್ವರಿ ದೇವಿನ ಎಲ್ಯ ಮುರ್ತಿಲೆಗ್ ವಿಧ್ಯುಕ್ತ ಸ್ನಾನ ಮಲ್ತೆರ್ . ಶಾರದಾ ದೇವಿಗ್ ವಿಸರ್ಜನಾ ಪೂಜೆ ಮಲ್ತಿಬೊಕ್ಕ ವಿಗ್ರಹನ್ ಅಂಗಾರೆ ಕಾಂಡೆ 2 ಗಂಟೆಗ್ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಕೆರೆಟ್ ವಿಸರ್ಜನೆ ಮಲ್ತೆರ್.

Mangaluru Dasara festival concludes in subtle manner amid pandemic

Mangaluru, Oct 26: For the first time, the Dasara celebrations associated with Lord Gokarnanatha temple at Kudroli here, which is popularly known as ‘Mangaluru Dasara’, were held without the customary procession. Even though the procession accompanied by tableaux and people singing Bhajans, dancing etc and various performances arranged by the roadside on the route of the procession remained the highlight of the celebrations every year, this year there was no procession at the culmination because of the situation created by the spread of pandemic.

On Monday October 26, Visarjana Puja was performed at 6.30 pm. Thereafter, the idols of Lord Ganapathi, nine forms of Goddess Durga and that of Goddess Sharada were brought out of the hall one by one from 8.30 pm onward. After the idols were taken around the temple, they were immersed in the temple pond one by one. At the stroke of midnight, the idol of Goddess Sharada, which was the last to be taken out, was taken in a procession till the main gate of the temple before it was taken around the temple.

Later, the mini replicas of Lord Gokarnanatha and Goddess Annapoorneshwari which are known as ‘Bali Murthy’ were given the ceremonial bath. After offering puja to the idol of Goddess Sharada, her idol was immersed in the temple pond at 2 am on Tuesday. With this, the celebrations came to an end.

Kerala first State in the country to fix floor price for vegetables

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 27 (IANS): Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday said Kerala had become the first state in the country to fix the floor price for vegetables.

The floor price will be 20 per cent above the production cost of the vegetable. Even if the market price goes below the floor price, the produce will be procured at the floor price from the farmers.

He said this while launching the scheme announcing the floor price for 16 varieties of vegetables, which would come into effect from November 1, often referred to Kerala Formation Day.

Udupi youth Kevin Chris D’Souza brags ‘Master Blaster’ title in European cricket

Udupi, Oct 26: Kevin Chris D’Souza, a 22-year-old student earned the title ‘Master Blaster’ as he played for the cricket team of the Medical University of Sophia, Bulgaria, in the European T10 cricket league tournament series hosted by European Cricket Network (ECN). In the T10 innings that he played, he scored a total of 198 runs comprising of 19 sixes and 9 fours. He being a top order batsman, which is where he was announced the ‘Master Blaster’, a prestigious milestone indeed, in his newly begun career as a cricketer.

The highlight of his career is the recognition he got from the Bulgarian National Cricket team selectors after they witnessed his live performance at the European T10 cricket league tournament which was flawless, authentic and par excellence. He was almost instantly absorbed into the national cricket team of Bulgaria which played Malta in a 4-match T20 series late September. In views of the formalities to be followed, he made his debut for Bulgarian national cricket team on September 23 this year against Malta, this being the qualifier series for the ICC world cup T20 tournament in Europe.
