Mangalore: The city’s CDPO, which celebrated ‘World Cancer Day’ differently, pledged to raise the burden of cancer through ‘Keshadana’.
A total of 40 donors donated their hair at ‘World Cancer Day’ organized by CODP on Thursday, in collaboration with Caritas India, Touch Scheme, JCI Mangalore, Disha and KMC Hospital.
39 women and one woman donated their hair to a hair bank in Thrissur, Kerala, which makes wigs for poor cancer patients. The staff at the Mercy Beauty Salon, Suma Beauty Parlor, Monalisa Beauty Parlor, Pratibha Beauty Salon and Pritz Beauty Salon cut and process donors’ hair.
