Dead body of a young man found hanging in Vamadapada

Bantwala: The dead body of a man was found hanging in Vamadapadavu, Bantwala. The man who committed suicide was Padmanabha Samanta, a resident of Timaradda in Vamadapadavu. Padmanabha Samanta, who was associated with the Congress party, was serving as the vice-president of the district Congress backward classes.
A complaint was lodged at Punjalakatte police station two days ago against Padmanabha Samanta for allegedly duping a youth of Rs 1.50 lakh on the pretext of getting him a government job. In this regard, the deceased youth Padmanabha Samanta had told the police that he would attend the inquiry. But the he had not appeared at the police station for the last three days and he did not respond to phone calls.
The body of the man, who had gone missing was found in a decomposed state in a hill next to the house. The police reached the spot and conducted an investigation. A case of unnatural death has been registered and investigation is on. According to the police, the man committed suicide, but the truth needs to be known after the post-mortem examination.
