Udupi, Aug 24: Senior Botanist Doctor S. L Karnik has served as a Professor of Botany, Head of Department and Principal of the college for a long time died of a heart attack early Tuesday morning.

Origin: Dr. Karnik, a Kundapur taluk, is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son. Upon his retirement, he served as administrator of the monastery’s full-fledged Education Foundation for more than 15 years. He also guided the plant protection and environmental protection awareness campaigns.
